LIMA — Vietnamese President Trần Đại Quang met Saturday with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and the two agreed to increase political trust and promote comprehensive co-operation in line with the basic interests of the Vietnamese and Chinese people.
They agreed on the need for frequent strategic exchanges, satisfactory resolution of disputes and promotion of co-operation for their peoples as well as for peace, stability and development in the region.
Quang expressed his wish for the two countries to maintain exchanges of high-ranking delegations, as well as boost practical co-operation between ministries.
He recommended
President Xi agreed on the need to boost political ties and suggested the two countries make the best use of the steering committee for Việt Nam-China co-operation to further promote win-win co-operative ties in different fields, including infrastructure.

Meeting with Putin
At a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the two leaders expressed their pleasure at the rapid development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between their two countries.
They expressed their wish for Việt Nam and Russia to lay a solid foundation for bilateral relations in all fields, from economic, trade, investment to education and security-defence.
Quang recommended the two countries to maintain the exchange of delegations and meetings at all levels and closely co-ordinate in implementing the Việt Nam-Eurasia free trade agreement.
He asked Russia to create favourable conditions for imports of Vietnamese consumer commodities, seafood and aquatic products, and protect the rights and interests of Vietnamese living and working in

Stressing the landmark of the Việt Nam-Eurasia free trade agreement in the bilateral relationship, Putin said good implementation of the agreement would open up opportunities to expand the Russia-Việt Nam comprehensive strategic partnership.
Meeting with Bachelet
President Quang’s busy Saturday also included a meeting with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet.
As the two countries are celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties (1971-2016), Quang recommended the two sides promote co-operation agreements to further facilitate the bilateral relationship.
